PULTRUSION

In the Pultrusion process fiber reinforcement materials are continually pulled through a resin impregnation bath and through a shaping die, where the resin is subsequently cured. The resulting part is a consistent cross-sectional shape of varying length. Typical line speeds are three (3) to five (5) feet per minute. Finished parts are 80% lighter than steel and 50% lighter than aluminum for equivalent strength.

Superior fiberglass mats provide both cross-machine and longitudinal strength, enhance surface qualities and improve acidic corrosion resistance to Pultruded parts.

Superior Pultrusion Mats:

N-720,
This mat provides both cross-machine strength and improved surface qualities. N-720 should be used when the mat is pulled next to the forming die.

N-751,
This mat is a compact, open strand mat for higher glass loading, improving structural qualities when used within the body of the part.

N-754,
This mat is a compact, more open mat than N-751, for higher glass loading. N-754 is intended to improve structural qualities when used within the body of the part.

Surmat 100 SF, This mat improves the surface quality of Pultruded parts. Surmat 100 SF provides a critical surface for pigmented resins or an excellent post paintable surface. It also helps provide corrosion resistance on the part surface.

Pultrusion mats are slit to width from wider base mats. This can either be done before leaving the factory or by the customer. A 66 inch, N-720 base mat should be selected for the initial trial of a new part.

And very importantly, we only use BoronFree ACR Glass in manufacturing our FRP mats. This is the top grade glass that resists corrosion and produces customer-winning quality parts.
