Job Description

Superior Fibers, LLC is the leading innovator in glass filament media located in Reedsville, West Virginia and has manufactured there since 1978. The company manufactures fiberglass for the filtration, daylighting and composites markets and exports globally. We are looking to hire a Journeyman Electrician as we grow and expand!

Full-Time, 12-hour shift on a 4-day on, 4-day off schedule. Nights and/or weekends may be required

Supervisory Responsibility: Directs workers in installing and repairing/maintaining electrical setups

The journeyman licensed electrician coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, building structure, and grounds. Also maintains inventory of all essential parts of necessary to keep plant from shutting down. Backup to the master electrician.

Job Description Role and Responsibilities

  • Backup lead to the maintenance employees
  • Directs workers engaged in installing, repairing and maintaining electrical set ups. An electrician reads blueprints to assist in working with electrical systems.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintains equipment to prevent production downtime
  • Keeps management informed of any problems or potential problems with equipment or physical structure of plant
  • Assist in planning engineering and plant projects
  • Maintains time and production records
  • Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Performs activities of workers supervised
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-5 years related experience and/or training
  • An electrical apprenticeship involves supervised on-the-job experience that lasts about four years (about 8,000 hours) in addition to several hundred classroom hours spent learning electrical science and theory.
  • Passing the Electrical Journeyman exam
